Hormones are chemical messengers of the body. Our bodies require perfect hormone balance in order to maintain good health. The lack or excess of any of these can lead to serious health problems and may be responsible for many signs associated with aging.

As we age, levels of growth hormone and sex hormones decline. Women undergo drastic drop in estrogen production at menopause, whereas men have a more gradual decline in testosterone levels during andropause. By age 40, one-third of population has deficient levels of growth hormone, and by age 60 two-thirds are deficient. This decline is associated with many signs of aging, including decrease in muscle mass, osteoporosis, memory loss, weight gain, and sexual dysfunction.

With age, the components that keep the skin looking smooth, fresh and taut begin to weaken. Skin becomes drier because oil producing glands are less active, blood vessels disappear, and skin gets thinner.  Skin cells are replaced more slowly and repair themselves less effectively, so the skin losses its resistance as hormone levels decline with aging.

Fortunately, we can now detect deficiencies in these hormones and replace them safely with synthetic or natural hormones to restore and reverse some of the effects of aging associated with lack of these very important hormones.

Replacement with natural or synthetic hormone therapy can retain the physiology of the aging cell, and cause it to rejuvenate thus reversing signs of natural aging.

Replacement with these hormones has proven to increase lean body mass, reduce fat and assist weight loss. It has also been shown to increase memory, energy levels and improve sexual function. It also increases skin elasticity, eliminates wrinkles and affect hair growth.

Cholesterol levels and heart disease increase as we get older. Hormone replacement can improve cholesterol levels and affect blood pressure thus decrease the risk of developing heart disease.
